How to Give an Effective Presentation
In the interview process, you may be asked to give a presentation. Knowing how to give an effective presentation will impress the interviewer and may land you the job. Below are tips on how to give a presentation as well as how to give an effective presentation.

It is not uncommon for a job candidate to be asked to prepare a short talk or a presentation and give infront of other candidates and the interviewers. For most jobs, you need to be able to put forward your point in effectively, clearly and concisely.
Tips of how to give an effective presentation

structure your talk carefully

pitch the level to the audience, keep it clear and don't give too much detail

talk from notes, not a full script

fold the notes to hand size or cut them into index card size (5" x 4")

make eye contact with all members of the group

talk to them not at them

keep to time. Remember your nerves may make you speed up on the day.

speak clearly. Don't gabble or mumble

use humor appropriately

body language - be conscious that hands are not in pockets, keep your head up and avoid slouching, etc.

try to get someone to listen to your talk or presentation beforehand so you know if you have any annoying habits such as em, er, or if you repeat particular word too often

if you have access to a video camera, practise talking to it so that you can watch your body language.
