Purpose of interview
Ability to do the job advertised
Most employers looks for qualifications and
experiences to determine if a candidate has the ability to fill
in the job functions advertised. Some interviews include
standardized tests such as numerical tests or verbal tests.
These tests are designed to screen candidates to see who has
the on paper ability before the interviewer moves on to other
areas of interview. Many people can show degree certificates
but are no good when the skills are put to test. Employers want
candidates to prove whatever they say they are good at. This is
especially true when the job requires certain skills such as
mathematics or being able to think on the spot.

Problem solving skills
In higher level jobs, problem solving skills
are almost always necessary. If a job comes with some kind of
responsibilities such as management or team leader, problem
solving skills interview questions will often come up on list
of interview questions. Usually the employer wants to know what
the candidate will do when faced with difficult problems,
challenges and pressure. The ability to work under pressure has
long been a very desirable quality in managerial positions.
Problem solving skills can be difficult to
prove during interviews. However, candidates can give examples
of how he or she used his or her skills solve problems in the
past. Some companies will give the interviewees challenges to
solve as part of the interview.
